AME Bride: Brooke

Brooke and Jarred are truly one of a kind, and two of the sweetest people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Planning their wedding has been so fun, and I can not wait for their day in just under 20 days! When I first met with them, and Brooke told me about her love for green and organic look I immediately knew we would be a perfect fit. November 5th could not arrive quick enough, let the countdown begin!

Their Story

Jarred and Brooke first met while in college at Coastal Carolina University. For years Jarred and Brooke were just close friends but that started to change after Jarred became Brooke’s neighbor at Kiskadee Loop. Jarred and Brooke soon began dating. After being serious for a year, college came to an end and Brooke went off to Thailand to teach and travel for a year. During that year, Brooke thought about Jarred often, and realized he was the ONE. After getting back to the U.S. Brooke couldn’t get to Jarred fast enough and they have been inseparable ever since. Jarred and Brooke spent two years in Columbia, SC until Jarred was offered an amazing job opportunity in Maryland. They recently relocated to Rockville, Maryland to start a new chapter together.

The Proposal

Jarred and Brooke planned a big trip to Peru and the Galapagos Islands for September 2015. This would be Jarred’s first time out of the country and Brooke could not wait to explore South America with Jarred by her side. First stop was to Cusco before heading out on their big four day hike of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The hike flew by, not counting the second day which was straight UP hill! By the third night, Brooke and Jarred were so excited to reach the Sun Gate and see Machu Picchu the following day. The morning of September 7th, the couple woke at 3am and climbed up to 7,875 ft where they finally reached Machu Picchu. Jarred and Brooke then left behind the rest of their tired group to continue the hike up to the highest point, Huayna Picchu, which overlooks the whole historic site of the lost city of Inkas. They were exhausted but figured you are only at Machu Picchu once, and little did Brooke know that Jarred had BIG plans once they reached the top!! At the top of the look out Jarred and Brooke were enjoying the beautiful view when Jarred set their camera to sport mode and sat it up on a rock. Brooke was questioning Jarred on his camera technique when he turned around, smiled, got down on one knee and asked Brooke to spend the rest of her life with him. After the shock of a perfect proposal and catching her breath, Brooke of course said YES and onlookers cheered!! Hiking down the mountain took longer than it should of because Brooke was too busy staring at her finger every minute to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. Jarred and Brooke celebrated with the rest of their hiking group and then spent the night in the little town of Aguas Calientes. The next day they were off to the Galapagos, no longer boyfriend and girlfriend but fiancés.
